Hello! I thought I would let you know about an amazing event that is happening very, very soon. On 20 May 2015 (I told you it was soon), CLIC Sargent want all you lovely guys and gals to don a wig and donate to help children and young adults affected by cancer.
What is Wig Wednesday? I hear you cry. Wig Wednesday is all about getting your wig on to help those affected by cancer. Simply put on a wig, and donate to CLIC Sargent so that they can carry on doing their amazing work they do.
Who are CLIC Sargent? You sure have a lot of questions for me today. CLIC Sargent is a UK cancer charity for children, young people and their families affected by cancer. Every day , 10 children and young people in the UK will be told that they have cancer. CLIC Sargent are there from diagnosis onwards, and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement. They provide not only clinical support, but also practical, financial and emotional support. A number of services that CLIC Sargent provide are:-
– The “Home from Home” accommodation, a place where families can stay to be close to specialist hospitals during treatment.
– Financial support such as grants and information.
– Free holidays and short breaks so that families can spend time together, with the support of care professionals.
You can participate in Wig Wednesday at work, school or even at home. You could have a movie marathon night in, and encourage your friends to dress up as their favourite characters. Why not thrown in some big bags of Metcalfe’s Skinny Charity Topcorn , and make your donations go further? Even if you’re sat at home in a wig (and nothing else… oo-er), you can still be a part of Wig Wednesday by donating .
