Hello! It’s once again time for a savoury post, just to balance out all the sweet things I share with you all usually. Today I will be sharing with you the Pokemon Ramen (Soy) .
Pokemon Ramen (Soy)
They say:
This Pokemon style instant ramen is packed with soy flavor and only takes a few minutes to prepare. Minced fish circles printed with Pikachu and Pochama give this delicious ramen a truly unique look!
Includes a sticker with 10 to collect.
I say:
When this adorable Pikachu adorned tub of ramen arrived into my life via OyatsuBox a few weeks ago, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was tucking in.
Upon opening, I was greeted with a subtle, salty scent. It had hints of spice too, which made my very excited to try them. However, I was not happy with those bits of sweetcorn I quickly spotted, and I fished them out before I added hot water. Not even sorry.
These noodles didn’t take long to be ready, and it seemed it only took a matter of minutes before I could gobble them up.
The ramen broth had a subtle soy flavour. It wasn’t overpowering in the slightest, and it complimented the ramen noodles nicely. The noodles reminded me of those from another ramen I have tried, the Butamen Instant Noodles .
To say it was an instant snack, I thought the noodles were good quality and enjoyable. They were a comfortable balance between soft and chewy. They were not heavy nor starchy, and overall I thought the ramen was comfortably filling. It isn’t going to make you feel “busting as the seams” full but it does placate hunger pangs for an hour or two.
I am so glad that there was not any more sweetcorn lurking around in the noodles. I’m sorry if I offend any sweetcorn lovers out there, but I honestly despise it.
I’m going to be honest here and admit that I was not sure what the pink things were at first. I tried one, and the texture reminded me of ham. Once I had had a few more chews, the taste appeared and it had a weird artificial, almost paper taste so I didn’t eat any more. I now know that they are “minced fish circles” and I was supposed to eat them – d’oh! Oh well. I was more than happy with just the noodles on their own.
Again, I would recommend that keep a drink of water nearby. The saltiness of the ramen broth can be dehydrating.
The sticker I received was of this cheeky looking Pikachu. I’m not sure where to use it. I am quite tempted to stick it on to the face of my blogging notebook, so the cheekiness of Pikachu is always with me… but I would be so upset if it became ruined!
I could definitely eat this tub of Pokemon Ramen again, and I am already tempted to place a sneaky order for a few more tubs (even if it was just for more stickers. ) I would imagine these would be perfect for travelling or camping, as they didn’t take long to prepare and were a filling snack.
Would you try Pokemon Ramen?
