It’s once again OyatsuBox time, yay! For those of you not so familiar with my blog, OyatsuBox is a monthly subscription box service from Japan. For $11.99, $20 or $30 per month, you receive a box of Japanese confectionery and savoury goods. Let’s have a look inside!
Let’s start with my favourite items in the box…
Nerune – Pineapple and Melon (Premium Box)
Yay, another DIY candy kit for my stash! You know the drill by now; add water to various powders to make a gooey treat. In this new version, you get to make Pineapple and Melon flavoured goo. No doubt you will see this pop up on the blog soon!
Pokemon 3D – Super Lemon (Premium Box)
I believe these are simple lemon flavoured hard candies . You cut out the 3D glasses to see the 3D Pokemon drawings on each wrapper, which will no doubt be strewn across my bedroom in a few days…
LOOK – 18 (Premium Box)
Chocolate, yes! I love chocolate. This special version of LOOK chocolate is made with 3 versions of chocolate beans from Venezuela, Equador and Ghana . Seeing as this is a luxury item, I might blog about in detail, but I hope you understand it if I inhale it all in 5 seconds.
Some traditional Japanese items!
Yuzu Senbei (Premium Box Only)
Senbei are rice crackers , and this particular variety is made using Yuzu and Sugar Crystals . This is from an independent shop, Rice Village Honpo, and I am actually excited to give it a go! I will probably eat it as soon as I have posted this…
Classic Kinako Mochi
We all know what mochi is, right? A rice cake made from squished rice paste, to put it my way. This is kinako flavour, which I believe is roasted soybean flavour … Um… *sweats nervously* … I will try to give it a go!
The final traditional snack this month is the Black Bar, from the Kyushu region of Japan. They are made with brown sugar and dough , and have been made for over 100 years . *is impressed*
Mmm.. crisps. These curry flavour chips have been endorsed by a famous actor, Shido Nakamura , who oversaw production and personally signed off the final flavour. I didn’t know who he was, but apparently he was the voice of Ryuk in Death Note!? *mind blown*
Bikkuriman 8
A simple chocolate wafer biscuit which comes with a collectable card inside. This will no doubt be an enjoyable, fuss free treat!
Kari Poli – Cola and Grape
I swear I have a few boxes of these candy sticks, I’m sure of it! Apparently they are a favourite with Japanese children. They are candy sticks with cola flavour on one end, and grape on another . If I do have multiple boxes, I will do a review of them!
Chewy sweets that aren’t Hi-Chew or Puccho? *faints* These are plum flavoured . A little unusual , especially when I am used to flavours like strawberry and lemon , but I will give them a go.
The Gashapon I received this month is… a Sylveon shaped headphone jack. I’m not going to lie, it took me ages to work out which Pokemon this was! This is from the Pokemon Cookie Gashapon collection . I put it in my iPad headphone port and I loved how it looked. New obsession maybe…?
A different box this month . I liked how they were traditional snacks included, and they weren’t savoury – haha! I am so excited to try the Yuzu Senbei as well as the curry flavoured chips and LOOK chocolate. I will probably sit here and eat the entire box whilst I marathon something on Netflix. #noregrets
OyatsuBox is a monthly subscription service from Japan. The box I receive is the Premium OyatsuBox, which is $30 for 10-14 full size items per month. There is also the Junior Service, at $11.99 per month where you receive 3 full size items per month, or the normal OyatsuBox that is $20 for 6 full size treats. I prefer the $30 service personally as you get so much to try, and it will last you until the next box comes! Shipping is free and there are no custom charges to pay. The boxes are sent out at the start of each month and take about two weeks to arrive. The boxes have increased in price in the past few months to cover the cost of tracked shipping.
OyatsuBox contain a mixture of sweet and savoury items but do not worry, you receive an information sheet in English with the box so you know what each item is.
What’s your favourite item in the box?

I am working with OyatsuBox at the moment, and as part of this work they have kindly offered me a free subscription. I wanted to make it clear to you all that this has only started from May’s box. My boxes from September to April were not provided for free. If you have any questions, queries or doubts, please email me. I would be happy to put your mind at ease.
I really need to subscribe to this, I always like the look of everything when you post your unboxing posts! I know Dylan would steal the pokemon related bits from me though! haha xx
For some reason I didn’t get a Pokemon gacha in my box, but it looks like everyone else did :O
I actually used this gacha machine when I was in Japan though to get an Eevee for my friend heh
Have you tried the Senbei yet?
I think it tasted like Iced Gems!!
Everything always looks so fun and exciting that I wouldn’t want to eat it!
