It’s once again OyatsuBox time, yay! For those of you not so familiar with my blog, OyatsuBox is a monthly subscription box service from Japan. For $11.99, $20 or $30 per month, you receive a box of Japanese confectionery and savoury goods. Let’s have a look inside!
Kit Kat – Raspberry (Premium Box)
Let’s start with the most exciting item in the box – JAPANESE KIT KATS! AAAH! To make it even better, these are the limited edition Raspberry Kit Kats. I cannot WAIT to try these. I’ll do my best to get a full review up soon.
Caramel Corn – Apple Pie
Despite the name, Caramel Corn is more of a “corn puff” type snack; think something similar to Wotsits or Cheetos . This apple pie variety of Caramel Corn features Yokai Watch packaging, which is rather apt considering the game finally came out in the UK in late April . I will have to try these soon, along with the Strawberry variety I received not too long ago… *guilty hoarding face*
Kameda Variety Pack
This variety pack contains 10 different kinds of classic Japanese snacks , such as seafood, senbei and more. I’m not going to lie, this scares me very much . I wish I wasn’t such a wuss when it comes to savoury snacks, as I am sure I am missing out. I will have to bribe myself to try them, perhaps with the aforementioned Kit Kats?
Petit- Baked Pizza
Argh, another packet of those pizza biscuits. Yes, pizza flavoured biscuits. I just can’t. Nope. Not today, Satan.
Kracie HimoHimo Candy (Premium Box)
A new DIY candy kit from Kracie for me to try. The idea behind this kit is that you use cola and ramune flavoured gummie s to make braids … or just have fun with it! I’m really looking forward to trying this.
Umaibo – Choco Cream (Premium Box)
Umaibo are corn puffs (again, imagine something like a Wotsit or a Cheeto) and this particular variety of Umaibo boasts a chocolate cream filling. I wonder if they will be like the Umaibo Choco Bites ? I hope so, as they were nice! I will probably eat these soon, as it’s only a small packet and not substantial enough to warrant a review.
Jan-Ken-Pon Gummy
These are grape gummies in the shape of the game, Jan Ken Pon , or as we know it, rock paper scissors . These will definitely make for some fun pictures. Let’s hope they are just as yummy.
Pocky – Sweet Milk
A new variety of Pocky for me to try, yay! This particular variety boasts a thick layer of sweet milk cream . I think I will like these!
Fujiya Milky – Ultraman Edition
This special edition of Fujiya Milky sweets features Ultraman packaging. How cute is the box? I love Fujiya Milky ; they are some of my favourite Japanese sweets, ever!
Natori Neri Plum Candy
A rather small packet of gummies, but don’t let their size fool you. I am told that these are traditional sour plum (ume) dagashi candies , and have been sold for decades in snack shops in Japan. A nice treat for my handbag, I think.
Puccho – Peach (Premium Box)
Another new variety of a classic to try. Puccho candies are
a chewy fruit swee
t that also
contain small pieces of gummy
for
an unique taste experience.
This new variety is
ripe peach flavour
, and I couldn’t be more excited to try them.
Mmm.. peach.
The Japanese Gachapon I received this month is a Mario keyring . Not just another Mario keyring though , it’s Mario in a cat suit! Oo-er.
A very good box this month! You have no idea how excited I am about the Raspberry Kit Kats . There are also some great sweet treats for me to try this month, especially the Umaibo Chocolate Cream and the Pocky – Sweet Milk . I have to say that it will take me a lot of courage to try the savoury items this month, especially the Snack Pack . I will have to bribe myself, or indeed rope in a (un)willing assistant to share the experience!
OyatsuBox is a monthly subscription service from Japan. The box I receive is the Premium OyatsuBox, which is $30 for 10-14 full size items per month. There is also the Junior Service, at $11.99 per month where you receive 3 full size items per month, or the normal OyatsuBox that is $20 for 6 full size treats. I prefer the $30 service personally as you get so much to try, and it will last you until the next box comes! Shipping is free and there are no custom charges to pay. The boxes are sent out at the start of each month and take about two weeks to arrive. The boxes have increased in price in the past few months to cover the cost of tracked shipping.
OyatsuBox contain a mixture of sweet and savoury items but do not worry, you receive an information sheet in English with the box so you know what each item is.
What’s your favourite item in the box?
Dannie x
I am working with OyatsuBox at the moment, and as part of this work they have kindly offered me a free subscription. I wanted to make it clear to you all that this has only started from May’s box. My boxes from September 2014 to April 2015 were not provided for free. If you have any questions, queries or doubts, please email me. I would be happy to put your mind at ease.
Nice selection this month! I can vouch for those raspberry Kit Kats, they are AMAZING!
