Hello! After I had so much fun with the Coris Horadekita DIY candy kit , it wasn’t long before I was rooting through my stash for another. Behold, the Kracie Neruneru DIY Waffle Candy Kit !
Kracie Neruneru DIY Waffle Candy Kit
£2.99 – OyatsuCafe
This kit found its way into my life through my OyatsuBox subscription – yay! Whilst I had my feet firmly on the first rungs of the ladder into the DIY candy kit world, I still needed to be careful and stick to the kits that I couldn’t mess up. From a quick skim of the packaging, I could see that this kit didn’t require a microwave but it would require a small amount of effort.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging? I love the little family on the front. Look at their faces!
In this kit you will receive a plastic tray, 3 sachets, a packet of toppings and a spoon. Inside the tray you will find two unpackaged wafers. I found it strange that there were only two wafers provided ( #greedy ), and that they were not in a packet or sealed up somehow. The corner of the tray snaps off as I have tried to show in the above pictures. This is used to measure the water needed in the following steps below. Don’t lose it!
Step 1! Empty the pink sachet into the circular part of the tray. To begin with, it’s a white powder. Add the water to the mixture (the water being in the small corner piece of the tray that you hopefully have remembered to fill up!). Stir until it turns purple. It turns purple almost instantly but I thought it was best to stir for a few minutes just to be on the safe side.
Step 2! Add the second sachet to the purple mixture. You will need to give this a good, thorough stirring! Slowly, but surely, the purple substance turns into a cute pot of pink fluff. I had a cheeky taste at this point (just to make sure everything was ok!) and it tasted like a strawberry mousse. The mixture was so thick I had to wrestle the spoon from it’s creamy clutches to be able to take a decent picture.
Step 3! Add the third packet into the top right section as demonstrated on the packet. I couldn’t see this on the packet (can you?) but you will need to add water to the mixture, so keep the small corner piece handy. Is it bad I tried stirring the powder to see if it magically reacted with the air? Don’t look at me like that, it had been a long day! This also requires a good stirring.
Step 4! Empty the toppings into the last empty section and get dipping! Kracie offer four ways of enjoying this kit but I stuck to the ol’ and faithful “dip it in err’thang” method. Oh, it was good. Real good. The wafer was light and crispy, the strawberry mouse was sweet and creamy, the chocolate sauce complimented the strawberry flavour and the toppings added a little bit of soft crunch. I thought they were sprinkles at first but to me they seemed like candy covered rice.
This was another DIY candy kit I thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely consider buying again in the future. I liked how it was simple enough to do, but it also required a little bit of work from me; being the water gathering, stirring, dipping and of course the really hard part… the eating! I think that Kracie should consider upping the amount of wafer they provide you with as two isn’t enough. Having just the two wafers meant I only managed to use about 1/4 of the mousse and so I had to eat the rest of it with the spoon (I know, woe is me!).
I’m being a bit of bore here, but if you are buying this for your young children I would recommend that you try this kit early in the day. The Kracie Neruneru DIY Waffle Candy Kit is high in sugar; there were times I could feel the sugar in the mixture, especially on my teeth. I tried this kit at around 8pm at night and I was still buzzing away at midnight, so you have been warned…
Would you give this DIY candy kit a go?

This is so cute! And I think it would be an awesome little treat for children, as it would mean they’re not mindlessly snacking they’re having fun rather than food as the focus point :)
