It feels like ages since I have sat down and blogged about a DIY candy kit.  Luckily for me, I had the  Kracie Himitsu Nerune DIY Candy Kit – Mystery Flavour in the stash, waiting for me to give it a go.

The Kracie Hitmitsu Nerune DIY Candy Kit – Mystery Flavour  is now the FOURTH  Kracie DIY candy kit I have tried whereby you simply add water to powder to make a candy treat.

In case you are new around here, I have tried the Kracie Nerunerunerune DIY Candy – Ramune ,  Kracie Neruneru DIY Waffle Candy Kit   and the Kracie Neru Neru Nerune Orange and Peach .

This kit boasts two mystery flavours , and if you combine them together you get a third mystery flavour.  Ooh, how exciting!

In this kit you will receive a plastic tray, 4 sachets2 plastic spoons and a packet of sprinkles .  In true Kracie style, the tray has a small triangular corner which you can either cut off or snap off.  You will need this to measure out the water that you will need in the next steps so don’t lose it!

Step 1!   First things first, snap off the triangular corner from the plastic tray and fill it with water .   Empty the red sachet with 1 on the packaging into one of the sections of the tray.

Step 2!  Add the water to the powder  and  give it a good stir.  The mixture will turn a relaxing shade of blue .   Then, add the red sachet with 2 on the packaging into the mixture and stir.   Oooh, so pink, so fluffy!

Step 3!  Now on to the other side of the tray.  Empty the yellow  sachet with 1 on the packagin into the the second section of the tray.   Fill up the triangle with water again, add it to the powder and stir.   The mixture will turn a particularly nice shade of yellow… or is it green?

Step 4!    You need to add the remaining yellow sachet with a 2 on the packaging to the mixture and stir .  It should hopefully  turn a more appealing shade of yellow.

Step 5!  Add sprinkles to both of the mixtures and enjoy!

What did I think?   Well… I have to be quite negative here! *gasp from audience*

The two flavours , cherry and banana , were so sweet they bordered on synthetic .  When it came to combining the two flavours for the third mystery flavour, all I could taste was something generically sweet with hints of banana .   I was rather disappointed  as one website said I would get a cream soda taste and another said I should expec t melon .   Which is it?   *sad face*

The two flavours each became sickly very fast , and overall the kit wasn’t as enjoyable to eat as the others I have tried in the past.   Looking on the bright side , it was still easy to do and a fun kit to make .  It hasn’t put me off Kracie kits and I will be trying more in the future.  I just won’t be repurchasing this particular variety!   I think it’s about time I gave those savoury DIY kits a go – wish me luck…

Would you give this DIY candy kit a go?

  2. I think the Nerune kits are the poster child for “fun to make, gross to eat” when it comes to DIY Candy haha
I love mixing them and the change in texture, but that texture can stay a goo 10ft away from my mouth haha
