Hello!  Today’s post is one for the chocolate lovers, the biscuits lovers and the panda lovers.  I’ve found something that will unite all of you; the  Kabaya Saku Saku Panda Cookies .

Kabaya Saku Saku Panda Cookies - Famous in Japan

Kabaya Saku Saku Panda Cookies

$2.99 – OyatsuCafe

I originally tried these cookies when I received a small “taster” packet in a Kawaii Wonderland lucky bag .  I was instantly addicted , and gutted when my small packet came to an end… two seconds later.  When I received a full size box in an OyatsuBox , I was delighted .

Kabaya Saku Saku Panda Cookies -- Famous in Japan

In the box I received nine cookies with eight different expressions.  Two of them have the same expression, except one of them has a different coloured nose to the others.   Can you spot it?   If you did, you spotted it quicker than I did.  I only realised until I came to write this post…  My personal favourite expression is the grumpy one at the bottom left – it looks like me!

The Kabaya Saku Saku Panda Cookies are made up of a biscuit base topped with two thick layers of chocolate ; white and milk.  The combination of the two is what makes up the panda’s face, and the thickness of the layer means you get a real chocolate hit.

The biscuit is what you would typically expect; it’s not anything fancy and it doesn’t have an overpowering sweet taste.   The focus of these cookies is on the chocolate.  The chocolate was my favourite part of the cookie, and I could have eaten a solid bar of it.  Even though there were two different types of chocolate, the white chocolate wasn’t that noticeable. I personally felt that the white chocolate made the milk chocolate taste better by adding a creamier taste (and also be the white bit of a panda’s face, obviously!).

I absolutely loved these cookies.  As well as being the cutest cookies I have ever eaten, they are also one of the most delicious too.  Kabaya need to add a “highly addictive!” warning to the packaging, or at least make them available in larger quantities.   Nine cookies is not enough! *shakes fist*   I will be buying more of these in the future… but only when I have got the stash down to a manageable size  (it’s actually becoming a serious problem now… *gulps* ).
