Invest in Autumn with JW Anderson

Hello!  Now, I don’t claim to be an expert of fashion – it took me years to get on board the jeggings train and now I’m on it I refuse to get off.  However, in my old age I am beginning to see the importance of investment pieces .   But what do I mean about investment pieces?  I mean items of clothing that can be styled up and down, have the quality to last, but can be re-sold later on.  I have been having a cheeky look on the Avenue 32 website as to what items I could potentially invest in.  One brand that I kept clicking back to look on again and again was JW Anderson.

JW Anderson is a new brand to me although I’m not sure how it has managed to escape my attention for so long.  Launched in 2008 originally with a men’s collection, he gained popularity; so much so there were calls for a women’s collection.  This followed in 2010, which quickly attracted “critical and commercial success”.  Since February 2011, his collection has been shown every season at London Fashion Week.

I was instantly drawn to the Grey Anchor Logo Sweatshirt .  Maybe it’s the emo inside me that is drawn to the anchor.  Maybe it’s the emo inside me that is drawn to the grey.  Maybe it’s both.  I just like it.  I think this has to be my favourite item from the trio as it can be worn dressed down with some jeans (or jeggings in my case), or even layered over a dress for quirky, yet comfortable evening wear.

Another item I was drawn to was the Multi Jacquard Sunray Skirt .  It’s so colourful, swishy and most importantly, long enough to hide my camel toe and thunder thighs.  Such a shame it can’t hide my unshaven legs!  Once again, it can be dressed up with a fancy shirt or dressed down with a simple t-shirt for casual day time. I’m sure in the summer some of you fashionistas can pair it with a crop top of some sort…

An item guaranteed to keep you warm yet stylish this winter is the Multi Raised Stripe Jumper .  Crafted from a soft wool blend, the breton stripes will ensure you stay on point even through to summer.. let’s face it, we don’t have much of a summer in England!

Out of all of the three items here, it’s the jumper that I want most of all… *hovers cursor over add to bag*

  1. That skirt is amazing, but I think Joe would leave me if I ever spent that much on one item! I love the jumper as well, it’s so grey and pretty! xx
