Glico Giant Caplico – Panda

Hello!  After falling in love with the Giant Caplico – Chocolate Bomber , I quickly dived back into the stash for another variety.  Today’s post is about my thoughts on the Glico Giant Caplico – Panda offering.

Giant Caplico – Panda

Can you guess where I got this item? That’s right, OyatsuBox !  If you’re not familiar with Giant Caplicos, they are an ice cream cone shaped snack, made of wafer and chocolate .   As I had enjoyed the Chocolate Bomber flavour very much, I had pretty high expectations of this one.   The Giant Caplico Panda variety boasts a white chocolate top infused with crunchy cookie bits, with a milk chocolate centre.

I peeled away the adorable packaging and was once again greeted with the delicious smell of chocolate.  I’ll admit that it didn’t look that appetizing; the white chocolate top could do with being a bit more “white” in my opinion!

Unlike the Chocolate Bomber, I didn’t have a thin layer of chocolate to break into.  I could sink my teeth into the bubbly, aerated chocolate straight away.   The cookie bits were very small and not that prominent.   It seemed the focus was more on the chocolate than the cookie part.    The white chocolate top was good.   It  wasn’t as sweet as I would have liked , but the milk chocolate centre more than made up for it.  It could arguably be the best part of the Caplico.  It’s sweet, creamy and of decent quality – no bitter, empty taste here.   You can see that the chocolate centre really does go all the way down to the bottom  of the cone.   If only real ice creams had that too…

The wafer cone was once again a menace; a nice crunchy contrast to the soft, bubbly chocolate but by golly, messy!   Crumbs… crumbs  everywhere!   That may be down to the inhuman speed I gobbled it up though…

I enjoyed this Giant Caplico very much, and in all seriousness I think I need more of them in my life.   Sadly, I just have one more variety left in my stash to try – the Sweet Potato I received from Alanna – but I will definitely be searching the internet for every variety I can get my grubby hands on!   It is for the blog after all…
