Hello! It’s always a tough choice to decide which item to try out from my large (and ever growing) stash of Japanese confectionery.  However, when the Glico Caplicocot Strawberry chocolates arrived into my life by way of an OyatsuBox , it wasn’t long before I was delving in (after photographing it of course!).

$2.50 – OyatsuCafe

From the first time I opened the packet, and the many times since when I’ve allowed myself “just one more!” , I’m always greeted with a lovely, sweet strawberry scent.  It isn’t overpowering or sickly at all; if anything it makes me even more excited to get munching.

In this packet you receive 12 pieces of strawberry chocolate.  To get the chocolates out, you push them out of the packet underneath and pop them out.  The chocolates are secure whilst they are in the black part of the packaging, but once they have been popped out they do not fit back in.   Unfortunately , that means you have to eat them… *evil grin*

Now where do I begin to describe the chocolates themselves?   I’m not usually a fan of strawberry chocolate, but I have to be truthful here and admit that these are SO good.   If you’re a strawberry aficionado, you’ll like these.   If you’re like me and aren’t that fussed usually, you should still give them a go.  I think you’d be surprised!

The strawberry part of the chocolate is light and bubbly, similar to our English offerings of Wispa and Aero.  The taste isn’t a sickly strawberry taste; it’s sweet yet delicate.  The chocolate part underneath is just normal, solid chocolate, and I think it goes well with the bubbly strawberry due to it not having a noticeable or prominent taste.  I think the chocolate helps to make the strawberry taste the main focus without overpowering the tastebuds.  The result?  Terribly addictive chocolates! (bad news for my waistline…).

I honestly didn’t think I would like these chocolates as much as I do, and after a lorra lorra thinking I would buy them again.  From a quick look on Google, it seems the Giant Caplico Ice Cream Cones  are similar to these chocolates.  I think it goes without saying that I will be snaffling my Giant Caplico Chocolate from my January OyatsuBox after I hit publish on this post!

Is there another date on the packet? If there’s only one date then I would assume that it is the expiration date. xx
