Why Do You Build Me Up, Build Me Up, Silicone Baby Just to Weigh Me Down? | Naked Detox 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner

You know you want to sing along!

They say:

All hair is prone to the perils of pollution and product build up, so we use peppermint and sorrel leaf extracts in this clever clogs 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner. Both deep cleansing and moisturising, it’s the ideal detoxifier for busy boys and girls, leaving hair fresh, clean and light. So your hair won’t be weighing you down even if you’re one of those people who carries the weight of the world on their shoulders. Because your hair deserves the kindest treatment of all we don’t use harsh detergents – only gentle plant based ingredients.

Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

I say:

I think that recently I’ve become a LOT more savvy about the ingredients in the things I use.  Before my attitude was “whatever Trevor” and “die young, leave a beautiful corpse” (my mum’s motto to life).  Nowadays, they call me tundra boy because I scour the ingredients list like an arctic lizard.

Silicone weighs hair down.  Too much silicone and your hair basically says I’VE HAD ENOUGH DANNIELLA, YOU NEVER EVER CHANGE SHAMPOOS AND I’M SICK OF IT.  I WANT MORE FROM LIFE and like a supermassive black hole it breaks under it’s own weight.

Even though I have switched to Naked for my haircare, I still sometimes rely on other brands for hair oils and finishing creams to add that finishing touch to my barnet.

This is where the Naked Detox 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner comes in.

I find that this is effin’ brilliant at really giving my hair a good seeing to. (oo-er).  It feels so clean and light afterwards it does a little dance, but it definitely does not make any love (I’ll be having none of that on my scalp!) and there will be no getting down tonight as I’m on level 57 of Candy Crush aaand a girl’s gotta prioritise.

Without giving a dirty old man some kicks with a provocative photo, the shampoo itself is clear in appearance with the usual light, delicate Naked smell. Of course, like all Naked shampoos I prefer to shampoo twice – once rather half-arsed if I’m honest – and the second time to really work up a feather light lather but yet get that squeaky clean feeling (not like Brillo pad squeaky clean *cringes violently* more like a ahhhh… Bisto type of feeling… if that makes sense)

As well as completely cleansing my hair of all the build up I also find it’s brilliant for preparing my hair for some heavy duty styling.  As it’s not leaving a residue, I find my hair styles (hahaha, hair styles looks like harry styles…. IT’S BEEN A LONG DAY) a lot better and my hair has the strength to actually hold on and last longer than 5 seconds outside.  *cue Rocky montage of hair pumping iron in the gym, running marathons…*

I love having this in my regime and it’s definitely a future repurchase.

If you are eying up the Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo but are reluctant to hand over a chunk of money, give this a go! For £3.98 you get 250ml of goodness in a bottle – Naked use naturally derived ingredients without sulphates, parabens or petrochemicals.  This particular shampoo is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, so we can all sit down, have a brew and not fall out.

Don’t forget kids…
