Treating The Talons

It took me so long to think of a title for this blog post.. I will not be impressed if this too turns out to be the name of some porn flick like Bath Time Beauties was! *grumble*

Treating The Talons

Yay for big pictures! I’ve finally cracked it!

L-R Maybelline Express Remover, Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, CND Solar Oil, Soap & Glory Endless Glove Hand Cream

At work, my nails take a real battering.  Paper dust, staples, rogue correspondence clips… I am the most unglamorous legal secretary you will ever come across!  When the sandpaper hands and the ragged cuticles get the better of me it’s time to whip out this dream team.

Maybelline Express Remover – You would not be alone in perhaps having a spot of deja vu looking at this product as Bourjois have an identical offering.  Stick your finger in the hole, wave it around and pull it out.  Yes yes, it sounds SO wrong but it makes removing nail polish easy and I don’t end up building a nest from soggy cotton wool balls.  It’s probably as environmentally unfriendly as using cotton wool balls actually… *huge epiphany about life*.  It’s the same price as the Bourjois one and it does exactly the same thing; it’s just up to you which brand you prefer!

CND Solar Oil  After my nail polish has been removed and my nails have been “squeaked” (where oils are removed from the nails), it’s time to give them some intense hydration and care.  I received the CND Solar Oil in my BBBBeautyBox and I’m impressed.   Containing jojoba oil and Vitamin E, this product gets deep down into the nails encouraging growth, strength and the ability for your nails to hold colour!  It also has this really sweet smell which definitely encourages me to use it regularly!

Soap & Glory Endless Glove – After Christmas, I began to feel a little guilty (un-buyer’s remorse? discuss..) that I didn’t pick up the S&G set with this in.  Had I missed my chance to try this product?  During one of my many, many trips to Boots I spotted the mini of this and in the basket it went.  With ingredients such as macademia oil, grapeseed oil, pomegranate oil and shea butters, this product hydrates your hands for hours and hours.  This has a thinner consistency compared to Hand Food which allows it to be applied lightly as an overnight mask.  If you’re curious about the smell, this is scented with the “Fruitigo” scent which is also in the Foam Call and Pulp Friction products.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – For the times I have cuticle problems, this product is digged out immediately.  Don’t be fooled by the dreamy lemon fragrance; it also contains almond, beeswax, cocoa butter and Vitamin E to intensively nourish and moisturise.  You can read my glowing review here.

What do you use to care for your nails?

I love endless glove! I usually use Hand Food and then every so often use Endless Glove with some little cotton gloves. I sleep with my hands close to my face and the smell floating out from the gloves is really soothing :)

My cuticles are pretty shabby on a couple of fingers and I know I need to take them off but I’m not really sure how to do it :(

I’m sick of Hand Food at the moment, I have too much of it! I can’t sleep with gloves on as I cant sleep and I feel really uncomfortable :(

I usually just push mine back but I know some people cut them off or remove them with a sally hansen gel >.< xxx
