SEVENTEEN Super Lash Mascara

Posted in Beauty

Hello!  I’m getting good at these make up reviews again, aren’t I?  Today I am talking about quite a new release; the SEVENTEEN Super Lash Mascara.

SEVENTEEN Super Lash Mascara

SEVENTEEN Super Lash Mascara – £6.99 at Boots

They say:

SUPERlash mascara contains hollow shaped micro fibres which adhere much better to the Lashes, giving extended length to your natural lashes.  The fibres are lightweight with a feather like texture so the eyelashes do not feel too heavy or weighed down when the mascara is applied.   The open structure of the fibre brush enables the mascara to be loaded easily. The evenly spaced fibres of the brush allow perfect separation & definition, by grabbing the lashes from root to tip, resulting in a super volumising effect!

I say:

I used to be seventeen… *sighs*

I am fairly new to SEVENTEEN as a brand; even when they were 17 I didn’t really pay much attention to their products.  However, the more I immerse myself in the blogosphere, the more I catch myself wandering over to their stand.

I purchased the SEVENTEEN Super Lash mascara during their 3 for 2 promotion.  I bought it as it came with a free liquid eyeliner, and I am loving eyeliners at the moment.  It has the potential to become a problem. But err… that’s a tale for another time *shiftly hides ever growing stash*

Anywho, as I have heard great things about their mascaras I was quite confident that this would be great.

SEVENTEEN Super Lash Mascara Brush

This is the brush.  It comes out clumpy and mess, every time.  Bleh.   This is why I tend to avoid bristle brushes, the clumping makes me sad.

Enough about my brush rants.  Let’s see some results…

Seventeen Super Lash Mascara Pictures

I know, I know; my eyebrows are despicable! *runs away to cry*

Even though the bottom picture may make you think “oh this is quite good”, it is actually disappointing.  Application is messy and clumpy, and I personally do not see the effects of the fibres.  This mascara also smudges like a  *cough* person-whomakes-love-to-a-mother–er, and I know it’s not me as I have never have a problem with smudging.  As I wear contact lenses, I am very careful to keep my mitts away from my eyes, so it’s not like I’m rubbing them either.  It smudges noticeably underneath my bottom lash line, and it somehow marks itself on my eyelid and under brow area, which I made sure you can see.  This mascara doesn’t make me feel SUPER; it makes me feel quite… what’s the word…  dirty?  It looks as if I haven’t even made the effort.  My lashes look thin and at times it doesn’t look as if I have any mascara on.

Would I recommend that you buy this?  No, I would not, especially if smudging is a problem for you.  It’s a shame that this mascara wasn’t what I thought it would be, but I’m not going to give up on SEVENTEEN just yet!

Have you tried this mascara?  What did you think?  If not, would you try it?

To be honest, although I’ve just bought their Phwoarr paint and really like that, Seventeen is not really a brand I think about going to at all and the packaging of this puts me off as it’s just a bit too brash, in your face and tacky looking. It also sounds like a complete disappointment once you get to the actual mascara. So nope, I won’t be giving this one a try :)
