Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer

Hello!  I promised a lot of reviews in my monthly favourites, so staying true to my word, here are my thoughts on the Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer.

Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer

£12.50 – Hairtrade

They say:

Delivers an intense dose of moisture for dehydrated hair while boosting shine and improving elasticity.  Panthenol, soy proteins and vitamin E provide hydration and protection.  Makes hair look and feel healthier and more manageable.  Paraben free. Vegan. Color safe.

I say:

After I fell in love with the Instant Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, I was kindly offered the chance to try the Super Charged Moisturizer from the Instant Moisture range.   Even though the shampoo and conditioners have been absolute hair-savers, my hair still needed a targeted treatment to replenish moisture on a deeper level.

As I use a fair amount of heat on my hair (although I am proud to say that I have reduced the amount greatly since my teenage years!), it is important that I incorporate a treatment into my routine at least once a week.  I will admit I became rather lax with this after being disappointed by various high street offerings, but all that has changed now!

The Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer claims to deliver an intense dose of hydration, as well as boosting shine and elasticity,  via a special blend of ingredients such as Soy Protein, Panthenol and Vitamin E.

The consistency of this conditioner is similar to that of the regular Instant Moisture Conditioner; at a push you could say this is bit thicker.  It isn’t heavy on my hair, but I would imagine it could potentially weigh down fine hair.   The treatment absorbs fast into hair; it does not “sit” on the surface.

I try to leave the treatment on for 20 minutes as a minimum, but I have also left it on for longer periods of time such as an hour.  For seriously dry and dehydrated hair it is best to leave this treatment on for as long as you can.  A rule of thumb I always stick to is that high street offerings can be left on for 5-20 minutes, whereas salon quality brands can be left on pretty much all night.

You know when your hair just looks and feels amazing, and you can’t stop touching it?  This is what this treatment does for me and my hair.  From the first use I saw results.  My hair felt thicker, but with no heavy or overloaded feeling.  Frizz after blow drying was reduced massively.    My hair looked shiny, without the telltale feel of silicones.  The best result of all is that my hair looks and feels healthier.

I used to save this treatment for once a week but I am now going to use it with every wash if I can; I am addicted to the results.   I dread to think about the amount of money I wasted on cheap treatments, that required multiple uses before the smallest of results was seen.  This treatment worked magic from the first use, and I get the same, amazing results every time I use it.

I have two other treatments from Paul Mitchell to use but I can say that this will be a regular repurchase in the future.  I love it.

It definitely sounds like I need this! My hair is in such a dry dehydrated state, I’m such a neglectful hair-haver…
