Etude House Superbox | Unboxing and First Impressions

Posted in Beauty

Hello!  You may remember that I gave into the Memebox hype and ordered two of their Superbox offerings; the Tonymoly Superbox and the Holika Holika Superbox.  At the time I said to myself that I wouldn’t order another one but alas, when I was alerted to the Etude House Superbox… I just had to have it.

Etude House Superbox -2- Famous in Japan

Sticking with tradition, I’ll start off with the skincare items I received.  I received the Moistfull Collagen Cream“a gentle, deeply moisturising and skin firming facial cream”.   It also comes with a small bottle of the Ampoule Essence which I believe you apply before the heavy cream as the essence gives a more concentrated boost to skin, which is then locked in by the heavier cream .  My skin definitely needs some firming up as the Terry Chocolate Orange binges are beginning to show.

The second product is the Play Therapy Sleep Pack – an overnight face mask designed to “deeply nourish and tighten up dry, sagging skin for a mochi-firm and radiant complexion the next morning”.  This sounds exactly what I need for my skin right now; it’s like my skincare prayers were answered.   Please do not disappoint me, Etude House!

Etude House Superbox 3 - Famous in Japan

It’s time for the make up items – yay!   I received a Face Conditioning Fixer which is not only be a setting spray for makeup, but it also claims to “soothe irritated skin with it’s aloe vera infused formula”.  Oooo indeed!  I will have to compare this to the Urban Decay offering I have lurking somewhere.

The funky looking bottle is the Belle Dress Pretty Look Shower Cologne Pretty Look which seems to be a mist-type perfume that you spray on to your naked skin (oo-er).   I haven’t tried a new perfume in ages so I’m excited to give this a go – I hope I like it!  No doubt my bank balance will rejoice too.

Next up is the Oh My Lash Mascara Top Coat that “creates translucent and glossy lashes”.  This sounds a little unnecessary and probably time consuming, especially as it doesn’t claim to have benefits such as making mascara waterproof like the other mascara topcoats available.   I would have preferred to have received a normal mascara from Etude House though, but I’ll still give this a go.

Finally, I received a Brow Mascara in the shade 04 – Natural Brown.  I think brow products like this in beauty boxes can be hit and miss as it isn’t guaranteed that someone will receive the right shade, especially if you are fair.  Luckily for me, my eyebrows are quite dark so this should be ok on me.  This is a basic brow mascara that “sets, shades and moistens brows for a refined natural look”.   As I have said before on the blog, I am having a bit of an eyebrow moment so I will be getting a lot of use out of this.

I think a few people were disappointed with the contents of the Etude House Superbox but I am happy with what I have received.  I think these items are good introduction to the brand as the items are quite “generic” and not really “out there”.  They’re “safe” in a sense.   I’m most excited to try the skincare items out of this box as they are what I need in my skincare routine at the moment.  This box sold out after a few days on the Memebox website, so it’s not available anymore (I’m sorry!).  I would recommend that you keep an eye on the website though as it is possible they will release another Etude House themed box in the near future.

What is your favourite  item from the box?  If you have tried Etude House, what items would you recommend?
