Collection Does It All Mascara

Posted in Beauty

Hello!   Since the majority of you said in my blog survey that you wanted more high street make up, I will admit I have been picking up a few bits here and there – it is for the blog after all!  One hidden gem that I have recently stumbled upon is the Collection Does It All Mascara, and boy, is it a good ‘un!

Collection Does It All Mascara

£4.99 – Boots

They say:

Collection Does It All Mascara has an easy to use wand for trouble-free application and it fully coats each lash for thicker, longer, curled and conditioned lashes that look amazing and feel cared for.The enhanced multi bristle rubber brush has extra spikes to deliver the maximum amount of product, coating even the shortest lashes for that wide eyed look.

Why choose one lash benefit when you can have a mascara that DOES IT ALL?
Go on! Have it All!

I say:

I have tried a couple of mascaras from Collection in the past (back when they were Collection 2000!)  and for me, they work really well.  One I remember fondly is the Skyscraper mascara.  When my beady little eyes spied a new mascara from Collection on offer in Boots, it went straight into my basket.

The mascara I am reviewing today is actually my second one.  I was so impressed with my first that in my eagerness I didn’t close it properly and the next morning I was greeted with a gloopy, unusable mess.  Whilst that was a bit devastating, I quickly ran out to purchase another.

First off, let’s talk about the brush.  LOOK AT IT!  Does it remind you of a certain brush by a certain higher end brand?  *cough* Benefit *cough*.  It even has a similar bristled top to catch each little lash.  If we are comparing the brush heads, I would say that this is more gentle on the lashes compared to Benefit and isn’t as heavy.

Formula wise, it’s good.  It can be built up quite easily, it lasts all day and comes off at cleansing time.  It’s not waterproof, but it isn’t easily removable with hot water alone.  What I do notice with Collection mascaras though is that I always seem to get a small amount of smudging near the outer corner of my eye, so if smudging is a big problem for you I would perhaps suggest you try the waterproof variety.

This mascara has quickly become one of my favourite mascaras ever as I get a similar result to my all time favourite mascara (Benefit They’re Real) but at a quarter of the price and a little more lash friendly.  As I said previously, be careful to close the top tightly.  I’m still not sure what exactly caused it to basically “melt” but when I think about it the same happened to one of my They’re Real as well.  I must be too hot for the mascara to handle – ha!

 Have you tried this mascara?

This mascara looks and sounds amazing! I like the Benefit one, but I hate when I have to remove it, it’s such a pain in the arse. I’ll definitely give this a go when my S&G one is gone :)

I haven’t tried this but I did recommend it to my mum after I saw somebody say it was a dupe for They’re Real, which we’re both big fans of. She did like it but she said the only down side of it was that it really didn’t last very long at all, I’m not sure why though. For about a quarter of the price of They’re Real I guess this wouldn’t really be a problem x

Oh now I like the look of this Danniella! It seems to have separated your lashes really well, I’ll have a look for this as my mascaras are drying up and to be honest are a bit past their use by date now too.
