COLAB Dry Shampoo (Classic)

Posted in Beauty

Hello! I noticed that it was getting rather confectionery-heavy on the blog this week, so I thought that today I would mix things up slightly and talk about a beauty product I’m really impressed with; the COLAB Dry Shampoo.

COLAB Dry Shampoo - Famous in Japan

COLAB Dry Shampoo

200ml – £3.49 – Superdrug

They say:

Keep that clean hair feel for longer & instantly revitalise your look with COLAB’s ready-to-wear dry shampoo.
LONDON – A classic yet contemporary fragrance of bergamot, musk & magnolia.

I say:

I’m not a big YouTube fangirl, so when the line of COLAB Dry Shampoos (in collaboration with blogger and YouTuber A Model Recommends) was announced, I didn’t get them much thought.   I simply put them down to being “another YouTuber product”.   However, when a flood of positive reviews began appearing in my reading list, I decided to see what all the fuss was about (if my favourite bloggers are singing the praises of a product, then it isn’t long before I want to try it for myself #sheeplife).    I toddled off to Superdrug, and I purchased the full size of the “Classic” fragrance.

I’m going to hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong to judge this product so quickly.  This dry shampoo is seriously good!  It gives oily hair a good refresh without any telltale white marks or dreaded flakes.  The formula doesn’t feel heavy on the hair and I’ve been able to use it multiple times throughout the day without weighing down my hair in a heavy coating.    I find it really easy to massage in and brush through compared to other high street offerings.   I have not suffered any irritation of my scalp, which can happen too often with dry shampoos.

The Classic fragrance is rather musky (COLAB claim it is a mixture of bergamot, musk and magnolia but my uncultured nose can only pick up the musk) and not what I expected.  I appreciate how “adult” the scent is, and how subtle it is.

I have an issue with the pricing though.  I’m not sure why a 50ml bottle costs £2, yet a 200ml costs £3.49.  I would rather pay the extra £1.49 for the larger size and have it take up a bit more room in my bag but hey, that’s just me!  I would definitely repurchase another bottle of the COLAB Dry Shampoo in the future I am honestly impressed.

I’m interested in trying out the other scents in the range…  I HAVE to try Tokyo right?

I haven’t tried Tokyo yet, slowly making my way through all the scents! I agree, the small bottle is not worth the money so much, though I will pick up a mini for my honeymoon in Sept xx

I suppose for holidays the small sizes are useful but in everyday life… no! :’) x

I wash my hair far too often , so I hadn’t ever really used dry shampoo much before. But, I’ve been trying to cut down my hair washing, recently and the COLAB products have been a life-saver. My favourite scent from the range is New York, but I want them all so I can line up all the beautiful, coloured cans haha!

I keep meaning to pick up a can of this to try out. I’ve heard so many good things. Like you, I thought it was just another YouTuber jumping on the bandwagon. I do like Ruth, she’s one of the few big YouTubers I still follow. I’m looking forward to trying this out. I like that you say it has a more grown-up scent. the majority of dry shampoos have sickly sweet scents.
