If there was ever proof I am a terrible blogger, this is it I have been meaning to talk about the Bio-Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream for months now; hopefully now is better than never…? *guilty face*

Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream Review - Famous in Japan

Bio Essence Bio-Platinum BB Cream

They say:

Bio Platinum BB Cream SPF25/PA++, brightening, sunscreen, repair and make up in 1 Step! Enriched with Platinum to nourish and revitalise the skin while protecting against free radical damage. Platinum is the rarest and most stable form of precious metal, it not only makes skin more radiant, but lightens fine lines and wrinkles. Light velvety texture, effectively conceals flaws with a natural and glowing finish. Refines pores and smooths skin, regulates oil secretion and protects skin from harmful UV rays and external pollutants.

I say:

A few months back now, I had been looking to repurchase a tube of my beloved Ginvera BB Cream.  However, to my shock and horror, it was out of stock online, despite trying various websites.   I tweeted my tale of woe to the manufacturer, Janiro, who told me that it was currently unavailable *cue wails of despair*.  However, not all hope was lost as Janiro took pity on my BB-less self and sent me a new BB cream to try – the Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream.

The Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream boasts 10-in-1 benefits, ranging from revitalising and brightening the skin by fading pigmentation, as well as repairing, soothing, nourishing and hydrating skin as well as concealing and treating blemishes.

*stops to catch breath*

The aim of this BB cream’s game is to create a natural looking base, by controlling oil throughout the day and protecting the skin from those pesky (and harmful) UV rays with SPF25 PA++ UV protection.

One of the first things I noticed about the Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream was the consistency.   When compared to the Ginvera BB Cream it feels to be a much thicker formula, and indeed one that feels, dare I say, more nourishing and moisturising.

Would it really be a beauty review if I didn’t include some unflattering before and afters?  Of course it wouldn’t!   Roll them out, boys!

The fluid consistency of the BB cream ensures that it applies easily, without dragging or pulling on the skin.   Like with any base product, you do have to blend it well at the chin/neck area or you can be left with The Orange Mark of Shame, as my boyfriend has told me on several occasions. *grumbles*   As you can see from the before and after pictures, the BB cream adds a healthy, natural glow to my face.

Due to the moisturising formula,  I would recommend this BB cream for dry/dehydrated skins.  However, I am not sure how it would fare on oily skins as I fear it may be too heavy for comfortable wear.

Since using this BB cream, I feel that my skin has improved.   When I first began to use the BB cream, my skin was going absolutely haywire, adapting to the air conditioning at my new job.  It became oily, yet dehydrated and I had a real battle trying to calm it down.   Since using the BB cream regularly, I have noticedthe oily patches have reduced drastically, and my skin overall feels more balanced.   Thanks to this BB cream, I have been able to wear foundations again, but there are times where I have chosen this BB cream over the heavier coverage.   Finally, I have also noticed that I barely get any blemishes when I use the BB cream regularly, and if I do, they are very small and heal quickly.

From what I can see, the ingredients of the Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream are very very similar, if not identical, to the Ginvera BB Cream, so if you are a fan of that I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t get on with this.  It does have a slight, powder-like fragrance which I personally quite like and haven’t had any problem with, but please bear in mind if you are sensitive to fragrance.

The Bio Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream has now become a firm part of my routine, and I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to try it.  There have even been times where I have chosen it over my Ginvera BB cream; who would have thought it?  I’ll definitely be reaching for this BB cream as much as I can in winter, battling the icy northern winds! #WinterIsComing #GettingImpatientWaitingForSeason7

If you too are mourning the (temporary) disappearance of the Ginvera BB Cream, or perhaps you are just looking for a new BB cream to try, then I would recommend that you try this too.  It might just surprise you…

Thank you very much for the recommendation – you know I’ve been missing the Ginvera favourite too! x
