My #TescoBeautyHaul

Hello!  I’m afraid I have been keeping something from you… I’ve been on a spending ban!  I set myself on a little spending ban in October as my hoard was getting ridiculous. Mind you, it still is.  I didn’t share the ban on my blog as I always end up breaking them.  It doesn’t look good when I make a big scene out of it and a week later I’m blogging about how I broke it, and what broke it (yes, I notice it!).   Anyway , I recently had the opportunity to have a small splurge at Tesco.  This is what I got!

Along Came Betty Hot Cloth Cleanser | Along Came Betty Pure Pores Detox Mask | Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation | Sleek Lipstick in Vixen | Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit

Does the Along Came Betty line remind you of a certain high street brand, hmm?  I haven’t read any reviews about  Along Came Betty products so I thought I would try them out!  They have a lot of bath and body products in their line but I decided to try two of their skincare offerings; the Hot Cloth Cleanser  and the Pure Pores Detox Mask .   I have high hopes for these!

I made a bit of an error here; I thought I was purchasing one of the new   Rimmel Lasting Finish foundations but it seems I picked the older offering instead – d’oh!  It feels like ages since I’ve worn a traditional heavy foundation and now that winter is coming it’s time to start cracking out the heavy bases.

When I lived in Leeds, I was forever eying up the Sleek Lipstick in Vixen  in-store; I always ended up saying to myself “I’ll buy it another time”.  Well,  it appears I’m now living in a place so deprived it doesn’t have a Sleek counter   *gets t’violin out*.   Vixen is my usual choice of shade – red!

After once again plucking half of my eyebrow out (it always seems to be the same one – when will I learn?!) , I’ve been trying all sorts of brow products to hide the evidence.  Even though I have pretty much every offering going – pencil, gel, powder, wax  – I couldn’t resist the  Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit .  It comes with three shades and a clear brow mascara; makes a change from those small offerings of clear “wax” in some cheap brow kits!

I was impressed with the amount of brands I found were available on Tesco Direct; Maybelline, Rimmel, Bourjois, Barry M to name a few.  They even had a few high end Christmas gift sets from Clinique and Yves Saint Laurent available too.   (Did I just drop a sick rhyme?  I think I did!  That’s staying in) . I would have liked to see more of the new releases available online as there were a few items I couldn’t find on the site.  However, it encouraged me to try new things such as the Along Came Betty items which are exclusive to Tesco… I think!   If you don’t already, you have to follow on Twitter.  They are one of my favourite “big” accounts to follow as they are genuinely interested in chatting all things beauty, as well as sharing tips and holding great competitions.  They’re a lovely bunch, so don’t feel shy about saying hello!

What would your #TescoBeautyHaul include?

  1. I was really surprised with how good the Along Came Betty hot cloth cleanser was and really enjoyed using it. Haven’t tried the other product but I’m sure it’ll be just as good!

  2. I’m absolutely awful when it comes to shopping at Tesco. I pop in to grab some bread and end up leaving with three nail polishes and a new mascara. They sometimes have some absolutely brilliant deals in store too!

Neither did I! None of the shops here where I live now have got it, so it’s great I can get it from Tesco when I want something x
