A Cheeky Essence Haul - Famous in Japan, UK Blog
Can someone tell me where you all go to learn how to take pretty pictures of your hauls and cheeky purchases? I’m desperate to be in your gang!

Essence , a popular European brand, has finally arrived on UK shores and is exclusive to Wilkinsons. I had been moping over the lack of stands in Leeds until I copped for one in the Wilkinsons next to the Merrion Centre – just call me Sherlock! I’ve since recently discovered they are now in the main Albion Street one now – yay! So what did I get?

I just had to get mascaras. Mascaras are my crack. Whenever I begin to try a new brand I always start off with mascaras. Let me tell you that it was hard to narrow it down to two, Essence have perhaps over 10 to choose from already! Luckily for me, the stand featured pictures of what the brush head looked like so I could try and choose one from the effect it was going to give my lashes. I decided on the  I <3 Extreme mascara and the Lash Mania Reloaded mascara . So far I have tried the I <3 Extreme one and I like it! I’ll try and review it soon.

Another eye related purchase is the 2 in 1 Eyeliner Pen . I couldn’t decide whether to buy an eyeliner from Essence.. Until I saw this! It has two eyeliner tips, one on each end. One is a pointed tip, the other is a square shape (like the Bourjois one!). It’s the Hannah Montana of eyeliner pens – the best of both worlds! I have also tried this and it’s one of my favourite products so far.

I was intrigued by the sound of the XXXL Long Lasting Gloss as it promises a long lasting matte effect but with the formulation of a gloss. I’m not sure what the exact shade is, but it’s a typical red shade for me. I have also tried this and I’m a little on the fence about it. I will keep persevering.

This unexpected heat wave has reduced me to a sweaty, shiny mess so I had to stock up on powders. I decided to try both the Mattifying Compact as well as the All About Matte Fixing Compact . I have yet to try these as I need to photograph them properly first. I have to say that I thought some of the shades in the foundation line were a little dark but fingers crossed the Mattifying Compact powder will be ok.

All of the Essence line seem to be under £4 (with the exception of the gel nail lamp that is £20), and it’s also on 3 for 2 in store and online. I think all of this cost me about £11-£12 with the 3 for 2 offer. Not bad, eh? I’ll no doubt be working my way through the stand in the future.

Have you tried anything from Essence so far?

I keep meaning to go and have a look at my local Essence stand but I’m worried I’ll end up spending way too much!
