Monthly Favourites – November and December 2015

You would think that as this post combines two month’s worth of products, there would be so many new products to talk about.  Well… There are some products I haven’t spoken about before, so that is kind of exciting?  I know, I know – I’ll try again next month.  Any road, let’s see what I have been loving in November and December.

Monthly Favourites - November and December - Famous in Japan

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation / Collection Brow Kit / Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer / Urban Decay Primer Potion for Eyes / Etude House Moisture-ful Moisturiser / LUSH The Comforter Shower Gel

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been on my “to try” list for as long as I have been blogging.  In pure “me” fashion, I was sceptical about how good it was.  During one particularly spendy afternoon I gave into temptation and bought a bottle.  After putting it through its paces in November and December, I am growing to rather like it.   It’s light and comfortable to wear , yet offers medium to high coverage that is buildable.  Expect to see this pop up in a few more Monthly Favourites post as I doubt I will be using anything else for a while.

The Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer came highly recommended by Alice and seeing as she is my go-to blog for all things beauty at the moment, it was only a matter of time before I tried it for myself.   It may be early days , but I think this is one of my favourite primers ever.  It’s gel-like formula ensures a smooth base for make up without a heavy, sticky feeling I usually encounter with primers.  I’m going to keep testing it for now, but so far I am impressed.

Another primer I have been loving this month is the Urban Decay Primer Potion .  This primer is a legend in the beauty world.  I use it simply on its own to combat my oily eyelids and it does a fantastic job at doing so.  It lasts for hours.  I would definitely be lost without this product.  I’ve even recommended it to a few of my friends who suffer from oily eyelids too.

The Collection Brow Kit has been sitting in my stash for literally months.  Exasperated by my brow kits being too red toned, I dug it out of the stash and… wow .   Where has this kit been all my life?  (in your stash…) (be quiet, brain)  It is just what I wanted.  A medium brown shade with no obvious red tone and it’s less than a fiver!  *throws all other brow kits away*

Turning to skincare now ,and to be honest only one skincare item stands out to me and that is the Etude House Moistfull   Cream .  Central heating has really taken its toll on my skin.  I needed a good moisturiser to use under my make up but my current moisturisers were too heavy for day time use. I dived into the stash again and I re-emerged with this treat from Etude House.   What I like about this moisturiser is that it is light enough to be worn under make up during the day, but it can also be paired with the accompanying essence for a more intense hit of hydration at night time.

Long time readers of my blog will know my love for the LUSH The Comforter Bubble Bar , so when The Comforter Shower Cream was announced I HAD to have it.   Initially an Oxford Street exclusive, it was rolled out nationwide for all of us non-Londoners (yay!).  The scent of this is absolutely perfect and I am so happy I can now enjoy the wonderful, calming scent whenever I want as I am no longer restricted by a bath.   Even my mum is a fan and has not too subtly been angling for her own bottle….

A little non-beauty favourite that I have to talk about is The Office – US .  I am seriously obsessed with this TV show at the moment.  I’m ashamed that it has taken me so long to watch it.   If anyone else is watching it, or has watched it, please talk about it with me!

What have you been loving recently?
