Monthly Favourites – August 2015

Hello!  I know I say this every month, but I honestly feel like this month has flown by.  I have not done ANYTHING apart from binge watching Netflix until the early hours.  I had a feeling this was going to happen…   Any road, let’s have a look at what I was liking in August.

August Favourites - Famous in Japan

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Cleanser

You may have heard both good and bad things about this cleanser; some skins love it and some skins hate it to the point of reacting – ouch!   Luckily, my skin really likes it.  I’ve been using it as my morning cleanse as it’s not too heavy , and it also seems to wake me up at the same time.  I think that is down to the  strangely addictive peachy mint scent …   It has to be sniffed to be believed.

Canmake Stay on Balm Rouge

A Japanese beauty item on my blog?   Say what?  I know!  *pats self on the back*  This is a lovely lip product from Canmake.   It’s a tinted lip balm but at the same time, it has a special something about it that makes it different from other versions I have tried in the past.  It feels a lot more moisturising , and the colour is perfect for the days of heavy eye make up ; it compliments it well .    I’m finally going to talk about this in more detail with you all soon so please keep an eye out for that.

Paul Mitchell Original Hair Repair Treatment

This is yet another winner from Paul Mitchell.    This is more of an intensive long-term treatment compared to a conditioner.  I feel like my hair is a lot stronger than what it was just a few weeks ago , just by incorporating this into my haircare routine once a week.   This is another item I want to talk about in detail in the future, so again please keep an eye out for that soon.

Optrex Eye Drops

I know this is a rather unusual item to include in beauty favourites, but this tiny bottle has been an eye saver this month.  It works instantly to soothe dry, uncomfortable eyes .   Thanks to this, I can keep on Netflixing to my heart’s content.  I’ve started taking it everywhere with me as it works quickly without fuss.  It’s not the most glamorous of items but it’s definitely an essential.

That 70’s Show

This is the reason for my sore, dry eyes!  I am terribly addicted to this show.  At the time of writing, I’ve just began Season 5… I’m almost halfway through the entire run!   I love it so much.    It follows the exploits of 6 teenagers in Wisconsin in the Seventies.  It launched the careers of Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, Topher Grace, and there has also been some guest appearances from people like Joseph Gordon Levitt and Luke Wilson.   It’s so funny and easy to watch.  I am seriously invested in Eric and Donna, to the point where I become very emotional during certain episodes.   If you are looking for something new to watch on Netflix I would definitely recommend this!

What were you loving in August?
