Holika Holika Superbox | Unboxing and First Impressions

Hello! I mentioned in my Tony Moly Superbox post that I had been naughty and ordered two Superboxes.  One of them was the Tony Moly Superbox so now it’s time to talk about the second – the Holika Holika Superbox.  When I saw it on the Memebox website I just could not resist!  I’m so glad I gave into temptation; take a look !

Let’s start with the two skincare products I received.  The first item is the Soda Pore Cleansing BB Oil .  It’s strange to see BB included in the name of this but as this oil claims to “clear blackheads and whiteheads for a clearer complexion, increases skin elasticity, regenerates new skin cells, heals scars and acts as an anti inflammatory agent” I think the BB indicates it’s a multi use skincare product (I could be wrong though!).  Reading all of that has just made me very excited to use it – I hope it works as claims!

What a funky looking bottle!  This is the Aloe 99% Soothing Gel .  This can be used as a hair essence, hair treatment, facial cream, soothing pack, eye patch, aftershave gel, body soothing gel, hand and foot essence … a true multi use product!  It claims to be over 99% organic aloe vera leaf water from the island of Jeju, Korea.  I tend to use a cheap version of aloe vera gel from Holland and Barrett so it will be interesting to see how it compares.

It’s time for the make up now… I didn’t do too shabby did I?  I’m so excited to use the Aqua Petit Jelly Starter . “Formulated with glacier water, mint and fine aqua pink pearls, this jelly textured starter is the perfect 1 step primer for your base make up.  It instantly delivers hydratons and brings back a natural glow to otherwise dry, dull complexion”.

Another base product I received is the Sweet Cotton Pore Cover Powder.  “Infused with a blend of lotus water, noni flower water, sugar complex and cotton extracts, this powder covers up uneven skin texture and locks in make up in place with a silky, cotton-soft finish”.  Wow, it doesn’t even sound like a powder – another product I’m excited to try.

You’ll be very happy to know that I received the red shade in the Heartfull Moisture Lipstick – I know I was!  I would have been a little disappointed to receive the other shades – beige (urgh!) and pink (no thanks!).   Can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the packaging is?

I would have been happy to receive any shade of the Neon Beam Nails – I’m not fussy when it comes to nails.  I haven’t painted my nails in so long, but I’ll make an exception for this.     It seems I just can’t escape neutral eyeshadows, and I received a Jewel-light Shimmer Eyes in the shade Golden Beach.  I think this is a lovely shade and it might be one that I can wear without looking ill/dead.   I’ll keep you all updated.  And finally, I received a Jewel-light Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade Burgundy Garnet .  I don’t have an eyeliner in this shade, and I don’t think I ever have, so it will be good to try something completely different.

I think this was an AMAZING box.  I am so happy with everything I received!  I can’t wait to start playing with it all, and blogging about it of course.   At a push, I prefer this to the Tony Moly box.   I’m sorry to say that this is sold out on the Memebox website (it sold out within a few days) but I’m sure Memebox will be offering them again in the future again (they’d be silly not to!).  This was $32 – about £20 – yet it had a value of over $50 if you bought all these items separately.   This was definitely worth the wait!

What’s your favourite item in the box?  What do you think I should give a go first?

I think I preferred this one to the Tony Moly too, though to be fair I think they’re both great! I love your eye liner colour , I got a dark blue one? But I think we got the same lipstick and nail polish colours!

Agreed! I started using aloe vera a few years ago when my skin was really sensitive and reacting a lot. It’s nice to have just in case! x

I don’t think they will re-release this box, but they will do another Tony Moly box in a few months or so, I would imagine it would a similar mixture of items :) x

  5. I adore Memebox and especially appreciate the boxes that contain both makeup and skincare! The themes are always very appealing and this looks like a very nice box. The Aqua Petit Jelly primer looks very interesting and I just love the way that all of the packaging is so cute!
