A Festive LUSH Splurge

Hello!   One of the things I miss about living, and working, in Leeds is being able to pop into LUSH whenever I fancy.   The walk home from my new office just isn’t the same without the familiar LUSH scent .  I recently escaped to Leeds for a day of shopping a few weeks ago, and one of my first ports of call was LUSH.   I had to stock up for winter, amirite?

It wouldn’t be Christmas if I didn’t have a bottle of Snow Fairy tucked away somewhere.  This pear drop and candyfloss scented shower gel is exactly what I want in a shower gel.  On one hand I hate the fact I can only get it at Christmas time, but then on the other it makes it even more special.  I wish I had this patience for other things in life!  I decided to be brave this year and try new varieties of the Christmas shower gels.  I decided on  Rose Jam and So White ; Phee’s Make Up Tips constantly raves about Rose Jam and   Dippy Writes’ review of So White had me intrigued.  If it wasn’t blatantly obvious, I love my sweet scents.

LUSH paper bags and heavy Yorkshire rain DO NOT GO WELL TOGETHER!  I almost lost some of these during the day and I would have not been happy if one of the bath bombs decided to break loose and cause some fizzy carnage!

After reading many blog posts covering the new LUSH Christmas range (I remember feeling very jealous after reading Adventures in Tea and Cake ‘s post)I just had to have the Northern Lights Bath Bomb.  You can see that it is just about clinging to life after snapping in half *sobs* .  It’s different to the usual bath bombs in that it’s more of a bath stick, but I think this will help me make it last longer; I will be able to break it off into little blocks rather than throwing the whole thing in.

The Luxury Lush Pud was a purchase enabled by Married to a Geek after I read her blog post about it.  I started a new job in an area of law I have never worked before (I have been thrown in the deep end to put it lightly!), so most days I am mentally and physically exhausted.  I can’t wait to pop this in the bath after a particularly strenuous day.  It makes me feel so festive when I look at it; I love how colourful it is.

Another new addition to the LUSH Christmas line is the Father Christmas Bath Bomb .  Look at his face!  It’s so cute!  I’ve been naughty and I’ve already tried this, so keep a look out for my review of that coming up soon – I’ve got some cracking lines that should hopefully have you all tittering and giggling.  The blogger that enabled this purchase was The Little Blog of Beauty  – when you read her post you’ll see why I wanted to try it!

It looks like the Candy Mountain Bubble Bar was another casualty of the horrible weather, boo!  This is a firm favourite amongst other bloggers at Christmas time so I can’t narrow down exactly who enabled this purchase… it would be a long list!  I thought this would share the same scent as Snow Fairy, but I believe it is actually bubblegum scented – not that I’m complaining, mind!

Finally, a product that wasn’t blogger-enabled!  I decided to buy the Snow Fairy Sparkle Shimmer Bar after realising it was yet another Snow Fairy scented product.  What can I say?  If we were in prison together I’d definitely be her bitch.   This is a solid bar you glide across wet skin to moisturise but also to add a little bit of shimmer.  I might use this before my Christmas do next week to attract myself some farmers… or guide lost ships back to the harbour *laughs at own joke* .

Have you had any naughty LUSH purchases lately?

LUSH <3 I picked up their Hot Toddy last week and it smells so good. My sister and I have bought each other LUSH stuff for Christmas and she's got me Snow Fairy, it smells so good.
Have you tried their festive soaps? We have Yog Nog at the moment and it smells so nice.

LUSH <3 I think I gave that a sniff but it reminded me a little of wine? I love Snow Fairy <3 I haven't tried any of their soaps as I don't have anything to store them in. Do they last well? x

  6. This makes me want to go pick up some Lush shower gels, but the sales staff here are too pushy.

Last time I went I picked up a cinders bath bomb and grease lighting serum. I love their buffy body bar and the olive branch shower gel too. I’ve never really liked snow fairy, it’s too sweet for me.

I’ve never tried lush products. People keep going on about them. I wonder is it worth it? Though we don’t have a lush in my town so i have to input the cost of petrol as well as the price of lush products……

I think they’re really nice but it does depend on you really :) do you like using scented things in the bath? I know some people can get irritation from it, so it would be worth checking out the website before you spend any money on petrol :) x
