Less than 8 days to go until “C-Day”.. *gulps*      In view of that ever looming day of gift receiving and giving (and of course the inevitable judging of gifts – never have I had to practice an “aw this is lovely, just what I’ve always wanted” face as much as I do on Christmas), today I am bringing you a little gift guide featuring some ideas from Liz Earle .  I have tried Liz Earle in the past so I feel confident bringing you this gift guide.

If you have been living under a rock or perhaps you have just recently entered the blogosphere (wipe your feet on the way in), then you may not have heard of the name Liz Earle.  Liz Earle is a beauty brand from our very own shores, established in 1995.  Liz Earle believe in harnessing the power of nature into their products; shunning animal derived ingredients, binning those irritating preservatives and stuffing their products to the brim with naturally active plant oils and extracts.

If you’re going to give the gift of Liz Earle, it is an unwritten rule that you must at least offer a Hot Cloth Polish to your recipient.  It’s just da rulez, ok?  This timeless cleanser has won countless awards and lodged itself a permanent home on many a bathroom shelf.

This year, the limited edition packaging of the Cleanse and Polish is a rather fetching shade of green – it reminds me of Christmas trees to be honest (last year it was a bright, fire engine red that reminded me of Santa!).  It comes packaged in a sturdy tube with two muslin cloths to be used in conjunction with the cleanser.  These 150ml bottles will last you ages, and the minute you run out you, and your skin,  will panic.

One of the main items catching my eye personally is the Smooth and Brighten Gift Set which is exclusive to John Lewis.  It features a 100ml Cleanse and Polish with two minis of the Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Soothing Eye Lotion.   For those of you looking for a hydrating toner, the Instant Boost Skin Tonic has come often recommended.

If you reeeeaaaally fancy pushing t’boat out, another set exclusive to John Lewis is the Jan Constantine Stocking Set .  The price may raise some eyebrows at £50, but it contains Cleanse and Polish, two muslin cloths, Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Skin Repair Moisturiser, Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash and a Nourishing Botanical Body Cream (*stops to catch breath*), all packaged together in a cute and festive stocking.   I will perhaps admit that if I had that stocking in my house, no doubt one of my family members would attempt to wear it after a few too many Baileys.

If you fancy getting the man in your life to scrub up, Liz Earle also offer products for men.  If they are completely new to Liz Earle, you could perhaps gift them with the Men’s Try Me Kit – a great way to keep them in the bathroom whilst you hog the remote uninterrupted.   For those blessed with a bearded hunk, Liz Earle also offer two gift sets – designed to keep them happy and well groomed (no rampant and untidy facial fuzz please!).  You can choose from the Men’s Shaving Duo or Men’s Shave Essentials .  There isn’t much difference between the two apart from one comes with a wash bag and one doesn’t… *shrugs* There are all sorts to choose from on the John Lewis website that I could easily just write about every single item on the site, but why do that when you can browse at your own leisure?   Perhaps for every gift you buy for someone, you reward yourself with a little somethin’ somethin’? ;)  Go on… it’s Christmas!

  1. I can only imagine just how fab the mens stuff smells when I’m loving all things Liz Earle lately. Might even be worth noting down as I still haven’t done the other half! xo

I don’t think there is a lot of difference y’know, I think they swapped some of the ingredients to target men’s concerns… :) x
