Hello! I know, I know – where have I been?! I’m sorry that this post has taken me so long to put up… but it’s ok because it’s here now! As you may or may not know, I subscribe to OyatsuBox, a monthly subscription service where for $25 per month I receive a box full of Japanese confectionery and savoury goods. Here is what I received in the November box.
Japanese Kit Kat – Green Tea Matcha – Ahh! I bet you can imagine my delight when I opened my box to find these looking right back at me! I have been dying to try Japanese Kit Kats for so long now; most of the delay was due to me not being able to decide which flavour to try first. I’ve already had a sneaky nibble at a few of these bars so keep an eye out for my thoughts soon.
Pocky – Kuchidoke – It seems I am hoarding so many varieties of Pocky lately… why can’t I bring myself to eat them? This is a special winter only version of Pocky that is made with chocolate; a real treat. I will definitely be heeding OyatsuBox’s advice and enjoying them with a cup of tea!
Kracie Neru Nerune – Otanoshimi – Another DIY candy kit, yay! I am also hoarding a few of these too! I need to have a day to myself where I can play with all of these and gorge myself silly. This is a kit where you create strawberry candy and then you can coat it in chocolate and other small bits of candy. Mmm… This sounds so good! I think I actually have one of these kits already, so if I mess it up at least I have another one!
Calpis Marshmallows (no link available *sad face*) – Mmm, marshmallows! These seem to have a sweet filling inside them. I cannot wait to open these. I won’t be playing Chubby Bunny with these, oh no. I will be making the most of these.
Chicken and Egg Lunch Soup (no link available *sad face*) – This isn’t a product I would buy myself to be honest. However, the whole point of me subscribing to OyatsuBox was to try new things like this, and not just to rot my teeth and ruin my skin. This is a small sachet that you simply empty in a mug and add hot water to. I think if it was just chicken flavoured I would be more keen to give it a go – the egg part unnerves me slightly!
PuyoPuyo Tetris Gummies (no link available * sad face*) – PuyoPuyo is apparently a Tetris like game that is popular in Japan. These gummies come shaped like the characters and the blocks! I can imagine having a lot of fun with these.
Japanese Rice Cracker (no link available *sad face*) – This is just a simple rice cracker. I can’t see any more information about it then that! I’m not sure if I could stretch a full review out of this as it is quite small.
Doreamon Ramune Gum (no link available *sad face*) – Mmm, ramune flavoured gum! This too will also be yummy, and I love the Doreamon packaging – he’s adorable!
I think this was a good box this month. There was a mixture of classic and random items to try, just like OyatsyBox said. I am so excited by the Kit Kats and the Calpis Marshmallows, and I’ll never say no to a box of Pocky. If you would like to subscribe to OyatsuBox, the service that I am subscribed to is the $25 per month service which is about £18-£19 depending on the exchange rate. This includes shipping and it takes about two weeks to arrive. There are no custom charges. To sign up, visit their website at the beginning of the month. Boxes are usually sent out during the first few days of the new month. As I have said previously, I love OyatsuBox and I look forward to it every month. I can’t see any reason why I would be unsubscribing from it in the near future.
If there is anything you would like me to try first, please do let me know! I find it so hard to choose something from my ever growing stash to review…
