Hello! Today’s blog post is about an item I have needed to share with you all for a long time. I’m talkin’ bout the Lotte Crunky Crunch Green Tea Chocolate of course!
Lotte Crunky Crunch Green Tea Chocolate
This unusually named bar of chocolate came into my life through a parcel swap with Nicole. I immediately fell in love with the name. It reminds me of being young, and feeling very confused as to why my friends were suddenly obsessed with “crunkcore”. I never quite understood what it was…
I was very happy to see that this chocolate came sealed in foil wrap. As I thought the chocolate was in the cardboard box just by itself, I had been worried that the chocolate had become broken or that it had melted. Luckily for me, the chocolate was in perfect condition… for munching!
Just in case you were wondering, there was more chocolate than this! I was trying to pace myself and only letting myself have a few squares at a time…
When I unwrapped the Lotte Crunky Chocolate for the first time, I noticed how similar it was in appearance to a Green Tea Kit Kat. When I took a bite, my initial judgment was right (#poetandiknowit).
It has the same taste; a sweet white chocolate mixed with matcha powder. Matcha is made from green tea leaves being ground into a fine powder and can be enjoyed on it’s own, usually as a tea, or mixed in with items such as chocolate and ice cream. At a push, I would say that this chocolate has just a bit more of the matcha taste.
What makes the the Lotte Crunky Chocolate different from the Kit Kat however, is that it has puffed rice mixed in. The puffed rice adds a soft crunch to the chocolate, and as a whole makes an unique chocolate bar. I’ve noticed however, that if I concentrate on the puffed rice it can feel a little plastic-like and artificial. My advice would be to try not to focus on them too much, and enjoy the chocolate.
I find the Lotte Crunky Chocolate to be oh so strange, yet deliciously moreish at the same time. However, as delightful as it is, I’m not too sure I would buy it again. I prefer the taste of the Green Tea Kit Kat and if there was a choice between the two, I would probably buy a bag of the Kit Kats. However, if you fancy reliving your youth, and want to eat Crunky Chocolate whilst listening to CrunkCore, then this is the chocolate for you.
Would you ever want to get down, get CRUNKY with it?
