It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Paul Mitchell. I’ve tried a few products now, and each time I am impressed with the results. I have reviewed the Super Skinny Serum, the Heat Seal and the Dry Wash Waterless Shampoo on my blog, as well as sharing my thoughts on the Super Strong Shampoo & Conditioner and Liquid Treatment on the Hairtrade blog.
I bought the Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner as an early Christmas present to myself. I decided to purchase the set from Hairtrade as they have been so lovely to me and incredibly supportive with my blog for a few years now; I couldn’t imagine buying it anywhere else.
I had been using a high street brand of shampoo and conditioner for a few months before I purchased this set, and in all honesty they had done more harm than good. After washing my hair would still look and feel unclean, and the heaviness of the products made my hair feel flat and weighed down. They also seemed to be contributing to my already damaged hair as I began to lose more hair than usual. I remembered how much I had enjoyed using the Paul Mitchell Super Strong Shampoo and Conditioner, so I decided to purchase the Instant Moisture range this time and see how they compared.
From the first use, my hair improved dramatically. It felt clean. It had bounce. It felt smooth and frizz after drying was reduced. My hair didn’t need washing 24 hours after. It was something of a hair miracle. Use after use, my hair continued to improve. I continued to see the results I had from the first wash. The hair loss reduced, and my hair began to look like hair again.
The shampoo lathers up nicely, although I find you have to make sure your hair is fully wet for it to lather up. If you have seriously greasy hair it’s best to wash with a build up remover shampoo first, and then wash with this shampoo for the best results. After rinsing the shampoo off, my hair feels so clean and free from any greasy or heavy feeling.
The conditioner is light and milky, and you don’t need to use a large amount. Usually a 50p size amount is enough for my hair. I rub the conditioner between my palms and then comb my fingers through my hair to distribute it evenly. In the past I made it a rule just to cover the ends of my hair from the ears down to avoid greasy roots, but with this conditioner I can use it all over my hair without fear.
I honestly don’t think I will go back to using cheap high street hair care now. Since I discovered Paul Mitchell products, my hair has improved so much. I want to keep my hair in this amazing condition for as long as I can! When it comes to repurchasing, I will probably alternate between the Instant Moisture range and the Super Strong range, depending on what my hair needs at that time. These two lovely bottles of goodness are coming to an end, so I had better place an order for the Super Strong range pronto to avoid putting my hair through any more high street distress!
