NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm

Hello!  It’s fair to say that most of my purchases nowadays are as a result of blogs – we are a big enabling community! One particular product that popped up again and again.. and again(!) was the NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm.  Hailed as the ultimate lip balm for those with permanent chapped lips, it wasn’t long before I found myself in Marks and Spencer handing over my pennies.

NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm

£9.50 – Marks & Spencer

They say:

A repairing, nourishing lip balm with a rich, delicious texture to restore suppleness and comfort to dry and chapped lips.

Ingredients:

Cera Alba (Beeswax), Olus (Vegetable) Oil, Lecithin, Behenoxy Dimethicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Extract, Mel/Honey, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Rosa Moschata Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifolia Wax, Candelilla Wax), Allantoin, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, BHT, Citric Acid, Citral, Limonene, Linalool

I say:

I was hesitant to take the plunge and  buy the NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm, despite the fact that I wanted it.  I really wanted it.  Could I bring myself to spend nearly £10 on a lip balm?  What made it so special?  Shouldn’t I focus on tackling my uncontrollable hoard of lip balms?  So many questions…

NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm 2- Famous in Japan, UK Blog

The lip balm comes housed in a screw top frosted glass jar.  This adds a considerable weight to it;  I sometimes get worried about dropping it and the jar smashing.  Fortunately. that hasn’t happened just yet, but it’s a concern when I take it out and about.  I have to admit that I feel rather fancy when I use this balm; it’s definitely a step up from my days of wrestling with a Vaseline tin.

As you can (hopefully!) see in the picture above, this is a solid, and incredibly thick, balm that you apply with your fingers straight from the jar.  I feel that it’s best that this balm is applied with the fingers, as it allows you to warm it up and massage it into your lips properly.  Simply swiping your lips a few times with a stick and just letting it sit on the surface and move around isn’t as effective as massaging the balm in, getting the circulation going and maximising the power of the ingredients within.   Oh the ingredients!  Where do I begin.  The balm has such an amazing concoction of repairing, caring and protecting ingredients; beeswax, sweet almond oil, shea butter, honey, vitamin E to name a few.

Believe me when I say that you can. and you will,  tell the difference with this lip balm compared to any others that you have tried.    Whilst I’ll admit that it is a little too heavy for frequent day time use, I feel that night time is where this balm shines above the rest.  If you’re struggling with chapped and sore lips, apply a thick layer of this balm to your lips and do not rub in.  Your other half will have to go without kisses for a night or two, but it will be worth it.  Your lips will be magically transformed from crusty, sore, horrible looking things to the luscious, soft and totes kissable lips you deserve.   There are times where I’ve been an idiot and picked at my lips for no reason, but luckily for me (and my lips) a night slathered in this wonderful balm will heal the damage within a day or two.   I’ve never had results like this with any other lip balm I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a LOT.

Despite my hoardings of cheaper alternatives,  I would repurchase this in a heartbeat (if I ever managed to use this up – it is a lip balm after all – who ever finishes those things?).  I, and my lips, would honestly be lost without this balm now.

This is another of those products I want to try but just haven’t got round to splurging on. Your reviews are so honest, so if you say it’s good, well then it’s gotta be worth 10 of my pounds!xx

Ugh, I miss this so much. I had a jar of this and my lips were so smoochable but I have stupidly misplaced it and now I’m using a crappy (in comparison) nivea thing :( sadtimes xx

It really is worth every penny! The pot is great for night time but the stick version is a little lighter & better for day time use. I must’ve had them for about two years now & I’ve still not managed to use them up although the stick is definitely getting there xx

Wow, it really has made itself last :O I think I’m getting to the halfway point with my jar because I keep picking at my lips and making them bad… just to apply this balm and start the cycle all over again! x

This sounds amazing, I get such dry chapped lips in winter and they definitely do get worse over night! I currently have about six quite good lip balms so I’ll refrain for now, but I don’t mind spending £10 at some point if it’s going to be such a big difference :)

Gerrrrrms. You could always use the stick version like someone said above, but I think this would be nicer.
I’ll put the lip balm on you. Heheh. Or “you know who” can.

It’s a pretty good lip balm isn’t it, I’ve being using it a lot the last two weeks as I have been out of uni and had some time off work so I’ve worn it during the day whereas normally I’d just use it at night. It has only been now where I have noticed just how long it lasts on the lips, it’s a well justified purchase.

I’ve picked this up a few times and put it back down, I love my Burt Bees lip balm so dearly that I just can’t shell out for this one. Perhaps I’ll ask for it for my birthday as a treat.
