Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Bath & Shower Gel

After my declaration of love for the Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream (read it here), someone at Neal’s Yard took notice and very kindly offered to send me the Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Bath & Shower Gel.    I will admit I’ve been a bit naughty and had it for a while *gulp*, but there is no time like the present to finally share my views!

I say:

When it comes to shower gels, I like them to smell nice.  Fruity, musky, uplifting, citrusy – I just want to be able to smell something as I think bath times are more fun when you’re smelling somethin’ good!  I have been in a bit of a love affair with the LUSH Snow Fairy (another link for you to open in a new tab!) which is probably why it has taken me a few months to blog about this.

Using the Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Bath & Shower Gel is akin to using liquid honey as a wash.   It looks like honey and it smells like honey, albeit with orange and mandarin thrown into the mix.   It’s quite thick in consistency and you don’t need to use a lot per use – NYR recommend you use it sparingly and I will back them up on that.    The scent of this product isn’t a scent that makes you want to start getting up and shaking what too many Mr Kiplings gave you, it’s more of a subtle, relaxing scent.   Try and imagine it now…  As it’s more of a calming scent, I tend to use this when I have a bath on a night to help me unwind from work.  I even used this on the morning of my driving test to help me calm down!

I really like this shower gel and I personally have never had any irritation with use.  However, my mum snaffled some (the cheeky bint) and she said she suffered a bit of a reaction on her neck.  I would say that if you’re sensitive to shower gels to perhaps give this product from the Bee Lovely line a miss – you can see from the ingredients it’s brimming with essential oils which can irritate some skins.  If you really want to be negative, I will say that the scent doesn’t really linger around for long afterwards, but that’s just a personal thing for me.

I would look into repurchasing this shower gel sometime in the future as I think the range is a great way to support the bee campaign.  I will say that it will probably be a while before I do so, as this bottle seems to be lasting ages!
