Monthly Favourites – March 2016

Posted in Beauty

Even though I write a monthly favourites post every month, I still struggle to come up with a witty introduction… *grumbles at incompetent, unfunny self*  One day I will have the introduction I desire, but until then let me tell you about the beauty products I was loving in March.

Monthly Favourites - March - Famous in Japan

TIGI S Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum

It has been a long time since I had a serum in my haircare routine, but this one from TIGI has me wondering why I’ve gone without one for so long.   The S Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum smells INCREDIBLE, like sweets and candy, and my hair loves it too.  It adds texture and volume without the dreaded, “weighed down” or slippery feeling.   Look out for a full review soon.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

This mascara is like a bad ex boyfriend; I always end up going back.  What can I say, it works for me.  It lengthens, curls, adds volume and lasts all day.   I love it.   I think this is the last tube in my stash, so once this is used up I will try to avoid buying another until I have used some of my other mascaras.  Note the emphasis on the word “try”….

DHC Liquid Eyeliner

I was very lucky to win the DHC liquid eyeliner in a Twitter competition run by the lovely folk at Escentual.  I had heard nothing but good things about this eyeliner, and honestly it deserves all the praise it receives.   The brush-tip applicator makes applying eyeliner easy, and I’ve even managed to draw a few eyeliner flicks!  *proud face*  The jet black formula lasts all day, but it comes off easily at cleansing time as well.  I genuinely haven’t reached for any other eyeliner since I received it, and I can’t imagine being without it now.

Rimmel x Kate Moss Lipstick in 110 / “Kiss of Life”

I have been reaching for this bargain beauty from Rimmel a lot in March as I wanted an easy to apply, no fuss red lipstick.    As you can see, I have NEARLY FINISHED it, which is a sign of a good lipstick, no?  What I love about this lipstick is that it can be layered up for a bold look, or it patted on and blotted for a subtle look.   It’s ideal for those wanting to try red lipstick, but aren’t feeling brave enough to.   One of my mum’s friends saw me wearing it, liked how it looked and went and bought it herself!  I’m a real life enabler *updates CV*

I think They’re Real has to be my favourite mascara ever and I also really like the new tinted primer. I haven’t bought it for so long because it’s expensive and I have so many others but my boyfriend has obviously been paying attention (he always appears to be ignoring me!) because he bought me one for Christmas x

I haven’t tried the new tinted primer yet!
And yay for your boyfriend listening to you and treating you! xx

I’m exactly the same with They’re Real – I try so hard to avoid buying a new tube when I run out, in an attempt to use up others (and to find a cheaper alternative I love just as much), but I always cave after a week or so. It just gives me the exact lash effect I want, even if it is a pain to remove!
