LUSH Space Girl

Posted in Beauty

Hello!  Yes, I have been in LUSH again… oops!  I can’t even remember what my excuse was but it was probably my usual “I’ve had a bath day, gimme all da bath bombs!”.  Get buckled in, as I am talking about LUSH Space Girl.  *wishes for a way to insert alien emoji into blog post*

LUSH Space Girl

£2.35 – LUSH

They say:

A space-dust filled bath bomb with a sweet and fruity fragrance. Once you drop this into your bath, Space Girl crackles with space dust (popping candy) as it spins around your orbit, restoring your good cheer. Grapefruit oil is refreshing and uplifting for the mood, clarifying and toning the skin, while bergamot makes you feel relaxed and cheerful.

Ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Grapefruit OilBergamot OilAlmond Essential Oil, Popping Candy, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, DRF Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Limonene*, Linalool*, Methyl Ionone, Colour 17200, Colour 42053, Colour 14700, Colour 77019.

Suitable for vegans.

I say:

I first clapped eyes on Space Girl when I saw it in the window of my local LUSH store as part of their campaign against microbeads.  I loved the look of the flying saucer bath bomb and I knew it was going to make my bath look all hipster and edgy.

The bath bomb is quite glittery and some did fall on to my carpet when it came to blog photos.  In my opinion, it smells like Parma Violets sweets and the scent is quite strong but I don’t mean that it is overpowering.  When I kept this stashed away in my underwear drawer it was all that I could smell.   If I ever get hit by a bus, at least my underwear will smell like Parma Violets…

When you drop it into your bath, you instantly see a flash of red.   As it gets fizzing away the red and purple tones of the bath bomb begin to come out and mix together; very similar to the purple and red themes you see on those nebula pictures.   As there is popping candy included in the bath bomb, you will often hear it popping and crackling; even when you’re sat in the tub so don’t be alarmed!   In the last picture, the red and purple look separated but that was because I didn’t swirl the bath water around – I was too busy trying to take pictures for you all! #dedicated.  Once you are in the bath and are sloshing around it will soon mix together.

As this is a vegan bath bomb I wasn’t sure if there would be any skin benefits to it but after a scour through the ingredients list I can see almond oil, bergamot oil and grapefruit oil.  It does leave the skin feeling soft but without the awful “overloaded and oily” feeling, which I like.  It also didn’t irritate my legs, which can be sensitive to harsh bath products.

This has quickly become one of  favourite bath bombs from LUSH, ever.  The sweet smell, the hipster water… it ticks all my boxes.   This will be a definite repurchase fo’ life.

Have you tried Space Girl?  Did you like it?  What’s your favourite bath bomb?

Wow I love the look of that. We don’t have a bath and I don’t really like them to be honest but LUSH bath bombs make me want a bath.
