Hello! I am becoming quite the Lushie lately – I’m always trying to find excuses to go in (and buy something). I went in this week to pick up a Dreamtime bath melt for my mum (read: excuse) and I decided to treat myself to a LUSH legend – the LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub.
LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Prep your lips with a buff and polish at the start of your make-up routine to ensure your lipstick glides on and stays put. Just apply with a clean finger, and let the exfoliating caster sugar and softening jojoba oil scrub away dead skin and infuse moisture to rejuvenate your smile. Bubblegum lip scrub won’t leave any greasy residue; just a sweet candy taste that you’ll enjoy licking off. Lip-smackingly good.
… It seems I cannot think of a witty way to start my “I say” part; brain, you had ONE job! (sorry, boss)
I decided to try a LUSH lip scrub as I do have pretty manky lips. *looks of disgust from audience* They are more often that not, scabby, flaky and sore. Ouch. I wasn’t expecting miracles with this scrub and you shouldn’t either.
It is basically a pot of pink sugar in a glass pot. That’s all that it is – check the ingredients if you don’t believe me. It isn’t as oily as I thought it would be – I thought it would be more oil based allowing it to be applied more easily. In fact it is quite dry and a bit crumbly; my clothes are covered in tiny pink pieces of sugar. It does smooth out my lips but the effect is temporary. I wouldn’t say it is moisturising either.
Despite these little bugbears, it is quite addictive. The bubblegum taste and smell means I can’t keep my grubby fingers out of the pot. It is basically a Snow Fairy lip scrub (and we all know how much I love that!). There have been times where I have basically eaten it straight from the pot (one for me and one for you… one for me and one for you…) (don’t look at me like that, I told you it was just pink sugar!) although it tastes better after it has scrubbed your lips. Weird, but true.
This isn’t an essential product that you need to have. However, it is a nice treat if you have some spare money rattling around in your bag. Would I buy it again? Probably – I’ve already nearly finished this one! *guilty face*
