Current Haircare Favourites #3

Posted in Beauty

Great Scott! Was my last “Current Haircare Favourites” post really in 2014?  Wow, I really need to start talking about my hair more…  Here are my current haircare loves.

Current Haircare Favourites - Famous in Japan

COLAB Dry Shampoo in Tokyo / TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Haute Iron Spray / Kérastase Nutritive Masque Nutrithermique

My photography is particularly rubbish today – one of my bulbs blew out and I couldn’t figure out how to compose two aerosol cans and a tub prettily enough *sobs*

I have already spoken in detail of my love for the COLAB Dry Shampoo (Classic) but for those of you who are new around here (or perhaps too lazy to click the above link) I will summarise for you.   I was incredibly impressed with the way the COLAB dry shampoo refreshed my hair without being heavy, itchy or noticeable.  After loving Original, I had to pick up the Tokyo scent (it’s for the blog after all) and I love it even more.  Tokyo is described as having “accents of orchid & mandarin with an aromatic base of sandalwood“.  To me, it’s like a sweet, flowery scent that isn’t overpowering and is actually quite fun (if scents can be described as fun…).  If you are looking for an alternative to the “usual” brand of dry shampoo *wink wink*, I would definitely recommend COLAB dry shampoos.  I’m sure there is a scent to suit all noses.

Another item I have spoken about in detail before is the  TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Haute Iron Spray.  Being a slave to the powerful overlords that are ghds, I need a heat protectant that is going to be to handle the heat without weighing my hair down unnecessarily.  I have been reaching for this particular one from TIGI a lot recently and you know what? I love it even more than I did when I originally reviewed it.  It protects my hair against heat and conditions my hair at the same time.  I don’t always have time to use a deep conditioner, so being able to condition my hair just a little every day has been a hair saver.  I really need to try more from TIGI; I feel like I have been missing out… *remembers spending ban* *sulks in corner*

And finally, a haircare favourite that is a little more luxurious than the previous two.  I tried the Kérastase Nutritive Masque Nutrithermique way back in my Tumblr days but the price tag was too much to justify repurchasing.  Over Christmas, I spied that it was on offer and whoops, my fingers slipped and ordered it.   If you have dry, damaged hair through straightening then you need this product.  It will make your hair feel so incredibly soft you will be asking everyone to stroke it.  It is an intensive treatment; whilst I have only been using it every now and again, I’ve seen a difference already.  I will try my best to review this in detail with you soon as it is too good to keep to myself.

I’d love to know of any hair products you have been loving recently?

I really need to try more hair stuff, I’ve got a crappy Toni & Guy heat protector spray that I got free in a gift set from work and I barely even remember it exists! I might have to sneak over to the rival and try that COLAB dry shampoo as well as I never find that t’other brand works for me! xx

I have about two haircare products (other than shampoo and conditioner) – LUSH’s dry shampoo and some Bjork & Berries hair / body oil (it smells so amazing).

I really need to try LUSH’s dry shampoo but a shop is so far away I always forget when I eventually go! All I think of when I step inside is that I need to keep hoarding “the comforter” haha :’) x

I hold my hands up and admit I am a worshipper of a certain dry shampoo brand *wink wink*. Other brands have disappointed me but I’ve heard good things about COLAB here and there. I do feel I need a change so I might give this a go!

And oh gosh Kérastase is the bomb! My hairdresser uses it on me last time I went because my hair is currently so damaged and it makes it look like it did before I abused it with bleach!! I should probably switch to Kérastase but ahhh the price haha xx
