The Blogger Made Me Buy It – TAG!

Ooh you know me, I love a good tag!  I often rely on them for quick and easy posts if I’m feeling little to none inspiration.  I thought that a good way to kick off the New Year, would be to have a go at creating one myself!  I’ve had this idea sitting in my head since January 2013 and I think it’s time to put fingers to keyboard and to make it happen!

This is the “THE BLOGGER MADE ME BUY IT” Tag – read on to find out more!

The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag

If you do this tag you are more than welcome to use this picture, just link the picture back to me! (Or I’ll do loads of passive aggressive tweeting about you).

So I don’t know about you, but ever since I fell into the blogosphere my bank account has taken a huge hit.  A stroll in Boots now takes twice as long; Googling reviews and swatches before anything is put into the basket.  My commute to & from work and lunchtimes are spent reading through my Bloglovin and Twitter feed for reviews and beauty news.  This tag is all about seeing what influence the blogosphere has had on you!

Let’s get cracking on with some questions!

1) Who are your most influential bloggers?  Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

I would not be alone in saying that The Sunday Girl has a lot to do with what I buy now.  She seems to get her mitts on every product known to man and each post has plenty of swatches.  I read British Beauty Blogger for beauty news as she seems to always hear about new products first, even if it is just a faint whisper – she has heard it!  I rely on Manface for skincare reviews as he seriously knows his stuff.  I have also been loving Really Ree lately as she is like a review machine!

2) Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

I would say that it’s a mixture of the two.  When The Sunday Girl blogged about the Barry M Flawless Matte foundation, I went out and bought it as soon as I could as it is about just under £10.  For pricier things such as Urban Decay palettes, I try and read every post I can get my hands on – it’s a lot of money to hand over!

3) What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

It would have to be the Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang after Fleur De Force posted about them.  I absolutely love it and it has to be one of my favourite products ever!  I have also been enjoying the REN Glycolatic Renewal Mask, Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleansers, Urban Decay Basics Palette and Bioderma Micellar Water as a result of countless blog posts.

4) What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm.    This has been on TOO many blogs to list here but this wreaked havoc on my face.  I’m glad I managed to snag a sample of it instead of forking out £30+ for a tub or I would have been freakin’ pissed (with very bad skin).

5) Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.

Ooh, tough one!  Okay, let me think  (she says to her OWN question) .  The Avene Thermal Spring Water, the MUA Luxe Lip Lacquers, LUSH Snow Fairy, Illamasqua Nail Polish in Perseid aaaand a full size of the REN Glycolactic Renewal Mask.

6) Have you ever given into blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

Two words – Baby Lips!  I bought ALL OF THEM and I’m not even ashamed.  I really like them!  I think for £2.99 they’re not that bad and I love the packaging.  When they were released I went all over town to find them – I was like a woman  possessed.

7) Have you ever avoided blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

At the moment I’m currently avoiding the Urban Decay Naked 3 hype.  I honestly do not need any more eyeshadows and the thought of handing over £37 for a palette of eyeshadow makes my eyes water.  I am loving all the posts about them though; everyone has had a different take on it.

8) Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

I’ve definitely become more militant about reading reviews before I buy anything – especially with skincare.  However, there are a few items where I’ve bought them because I haven’t seen any posts about them and I fancy being the first one!

There are the questions and there are my answers!  I would love to hear yours – you are more than welcome to tweet me your blog post (if you are a blogger)  for a cheeky RT or you can leave your answers as a comment down below if you aren’t.   Like I said above, feel free to use the picture – just make sure that the link is left on/credit given.

I can’t wait to read your answers, but of course to get a tag off the ground I need to tag some people!  Of course, I’m tagging Lydia (she loves a good tag).  I’m also going to tag Kel, Chelsea, Ali, Amy, Evelyn and Adrienne!

Eeee, I’m so excited! *swishes cape manically to express said excitement*
